Each year, close to 200,000 foreign skilled workers come to work in Canada on Temporary Work Permits which cannot be fulfilled by the existing workforce of the nation.
Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) allows foreign workers to work in Canada for a specified period of time. However, in order to work in Canada as a temporary worker, individual must know the following information:
(a) In order to work in Canada on a temporary basis, your employer may be required to obtain a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) to hire you.
(b) The foreign national must apply for and obtain a work permit from a visa officer
(c) The foreign national must enter Canada only after an examination by a CBSA officer at the port of entry.
